This course teaches you about initiating an interaction and defending your point of view: how to express refusal, how to draw boundaries, and how to formulate requests.
Using effective arguments is a subtle exercise, even if we all do it spontaneously and more or less consciously in many different circumstances. The goal of using successful arguments is to steer the other person’s behavior in a precise direction. In this course, we present the different argument styles—each having its risks and limits—you’ll need to be familiar with in order to develop a winning stance.
On completion of this course, you will have a greater understanding of:
- Formulating a request, expressing a refusal
- Make your point more effectively
- Don't tell, ask
- Reframe situations
- Tell stories
- Share your emotions
