Understand conflict

When conflict arises, a frequent reaction is to blame the other person and criticise their attitude. However if we look a little closer, we realise that in many cases we ourselves are partly responsible for the situation.

In such situations, we fall victim to our own unrealistic and negative attitudes by assuming the role of "rescuer", "victim" or "persecutor". This leads to us both causing and fuelling conflict.

This course is designed to help you spot these psychological mechanisms in yourself and in others and to step out of what we call the "drama triangle".

On completion of this course, you will have a greater understanding of:

  • How to channel frustration through empathy
  • Becoming aware of the role you play in a conflict
  • How to accept conflict
  • How to bring down your stress levels
  • How to neutralise conflict
  • The dangers of avoiding conflict
  • Understanding the benefits of conflict
